Samuel Takemura Arnold was born in Lake Jackson, Tx on March 22, 1996 to Dorothy Louise (Refsell) Arnold and Eddy Lee Arnold. He was 6lbs 8ozs and was full of vim and vigor. His delivery doctor's name was Dr. Ron Paul, who ran for President of the United States three times and was a U.S. Rep from Texas. Sam followed in the footsteps of his older brothers by getting involved with the Cub Scouts and then Boy Scouts where he achieved the rank of Eagle. During that time, he showed off his leadership skills many times and served various positions in Troop 1659 of Spring, Texas eventually becoming the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL). Sam was not only skilled in his outdoor endeavors and community service, but he excelled in school. He graduated from Klein Oak High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree from Lone Star Tomball this last winter of 2017. This last spring of 2018, Sam continued his Criminal Justice major at Sam Houston State University. He achieved the Deans List and held over a 3.8 GPA. Sam had just finished the first summer session at Sam Houston State with a 4.0. His goal was to continue and achieve his Bachelor's in Criminal Science and then move on to get his Master's in Criminal Science. Sam was employed during the summer at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in the Woodlands as part of their Security Staff. In past fall timeframes, Sam was employed at the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm as a greeter. He enjoyed helping people during this time of year and he had a knack for working with the public. His parents, brothers, and friends remember his quirky humor and quick wit. Sam loved making people smile and laugh. Another thing he loved intently was computer gaming. Ask any one of his brothers and they would tell you that Sam was the primary source of knowledge when it came to present and new games on the computer. He also tried to keep up with movies and was an avid movie watcher. Sam did try his hand as a dungeon master for Dungeon and Dragons having a unique talent in story-telling. Sam once won a duet acting contest at the local Renascence Festival. Of course, being the gentleman he was, and since there was only one trophy, Sam gave it to his female partner. Anyone that knew Sam knew that he was a faithful friend and could be counted on to be there when no one else would… he was someone you could rely on. Sam had a kind and generous soul. And, he never had an unkind word for anyone. Sam was an independent person who would help anyone but rarely asked for help and unfortunately that was probably his greatest weakness. Sam waged a battle that most of us never knew was occurring. It was the battle with the darkest of foes… depression. Even being as strong and kind and loving as he was… this was not enough to over-come the demons that depression brings. Sam lost his battle finally with depression Friday, July 20th, 2018 early in the morning. Be it clear that Sam was surrounded by people that loved him, doctors that treated him, and even parents that would have gone to the moon and back for him… but depression is a real sickness that takes many beautiful lives every day. Sam is survived by his mother Dottie, his father Eddy, by his oldest brother Eddy Kyle (Woody), by his older brother Nate, and by his youngest brother Cameron. Sam was part of a loving and compassionate set of brothers known to everyone as the Arnold boys. All were Eagle scouts. All wanted to serve their community by either studying and eventually going into Criminal Justice through Law Enforcement or Corrections. Woody is a Correctional Officer for TDCJ at the Holiday Unit in Huntsville, Texas. Nate is a Police Officer for the city of Victoria, Texas. Cameron is currently a Criminal Justice major at Lone Star Tomball. Sam will be missed sorely by all those lives he touched, but most of all he will be missed by the two people that brought him into this world… his mother and father. We will always love you my beautiful son. Please be at peace and rest your weary soul. Bask in the warm and reassuring rays of God's love for you are home.
