Samantha Marie Elizabeth Welch Urbanek

March 23, 1979 – June 13, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Samantha Urbanek announce her sudden passing on Sunday Morning, June 13, 2021 at home. Samantha was born on March 23, 1979 to Robert and Sherry Welch at Women's Hospital Houston Texas. She was a most wanted and loved child. The nurse present at birth said, "look at those eyelashes, they could sweep the walls". Samantha was baptized at Prince of Peace with her God Parents Dale and Carla McCarty present with their son Matthew. Samantha was a happy and sweet child. She was full of wonder and loved everyone. She gave smiles to everyone she met. She walked early and was always on her toes. She loved to dance, sing, act and perform. At age 2 she and her dad would sing out loud to the Beach Boys – Barbara Ann. At age four she began dance lessons. At age five voice and acting lessons. At the age of five, Samantha was selected to be one of first kids on the Kids Committee of the Houston Children's' Museum. She is the youngest accepted on that committee. She sent her recipe for Peanut Butter Balls into the search for kids. That and her interview cinched her place on the very first committee. Samantha performed local with a children's acting group. Ages 8-10 she performed in the Nutcracker at the Wortham Center while attending Houston Ballet Academy. At age 11 she performed in A Christmas Carol at the Alley Theatre. Samantha attended St. Anne's School in Tomball grades 1-4. She loved it there and especially loved helping in St. Vincent De Paul Charity. She continued her education Grade 5 at Krahn Elementary School, Grades 6-8 Kleb Middle School and Grades 9-12 Klein High School, where she performed in school musicals. She Graduated with Honors in 1997.

She attended Belmont University in Nashville. She was a member and past President of her Sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau. She loved her years in Nashville. She performed in Theatre Arts productions and a one woman show. She cherished her lifelong friendship with her sorority sisters.

After graduating from Belmont University with Honors she moved back to Texas. She taught Theatre, Drill Team and Cheer for Conroe ISD. She was director of events for Houston Oaks and Hearthstone. Samantha adopted her first fur baby, Oliver. She organized charity events in the Greater Houston Area.

She had a party planning business that was very successful. She designed many parties, for children, adults and weddings

Samantha and Brady were married in St. Ignatius Loyola Church in 2006. Friends, Family and sorority sisters were the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. Samantha's cousins Anna, Sarah and Tyler were flower girls and ring bearer. Quentin Urbanek was junior groomsman, (Nephew).

They set up household in Spring Texas. July 20, 2009 Samantha and Brady welcomed their beautiful daughter Avery to the family. Already part of the family were fur babies Oliver, Dodger, Sadie and Gunner. As time went by two other fur babies were added to the family, Anastasia and Dimitri. Samantha enjoyed life, even with severe Chronic Pain, she kept on going. She loved being with her daughter Avery. They shared a love for American Girl Dolls, dance and just snuggling on the couch to watch a movie. They had a special bond that cannot be broken. Samantha loved Halloween and Christmas.

She was well known for her beautiful holiday décor. She delighted in spending the holidays with family every year. She was owner of The Workout Barre and Dance School plus Studio to Street Boutique, where she made many friends. She loved her students, clients and instructors. She managed to create a close family atmosphere at The Workout Barre and Dance School. Hours before Samantha passed she held the dance school Spring Recital at Klein High School, REACH FOR THE STARS. It was wonderful, a true success. Samantha was proud of all her students and their lovely performances. There were many hugs and kisses that night. You could feel the love there. Samantha's family is so thankful and Blessed they had that time to celebrate with her and treasure the memory.
