Sally Eaves was welcomed home to the Lord on July 17, 2023, after a courageous fight with cancer. Through her final moments, Sally showed steadfast faith and contentment in the Lord and a love for those around her.

Sally was born on December 18, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas to Melville and Ethel Cunningham. The third child and baby of the family, Sally spent many hours riding bikes and playing with her older siblings, Susan and Mel. She spent her entire childhood in Fort Worth. She attended Paschal High School and made countless friends that she held dear even into her adult life. As a new graduate, she spent her first year away from home attending the University of Arkansas. She transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches where she pursued a degree in education. During her time at SFA, she captured the affection of Clifton "Biff" Eaves. Sharing a love for water-skiing on the lake, camping, and the beach, as well as a love for family and children, Biff and Sally were married in 1977. They went on to live together in Orange, Texas where they created a loving home, pursued careers, and developed lasting friendships. Among various moves to north Texas and the Washington D.C. area, Biff and Sally settled on Houston to continue raising their children. After staying home to lovingly raise her children, she began a lengthy teaching career at Emmott Elementary School. Her primary focus was teaching younger age levels, particularly first grade, where she taught countless students to read. Her friendships made through teaching were some of her fondest.

Sally's greatest earthly delight was her family. Together, Biff and Sally lovingly raised three children, and rooted their family in love and joy. Sally's abiding kindness and true humility stirred the hearts of all who knew her and caused those that knew her the best to love her the most: the better you knew Sally, the more you loved her. Sally's life demonstrated selfless love, consistently putting her family's needs before her own. She was regularly found supporting her children through various sports or extracurricular activities. Her immense love and loyalty for her family and friends overflowed to all who knew her. Sally never missed a moment to chat with anyone who came through her door. She loved gathering with family and friends, and could not miss out on an opportunity to stay up late in the night to continue chatting and laughing and listening to those she loved. Often known as a second mom to other children in the neighborhood, she extended hospitality to all who entered her loving home. Her genuine goodness touched all who knew her.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Melville and Ethel Cunningham, as well as her siblings, Susan and Mel. She is survived by her husband, Biff, their three children and their spouses, John and Lauren Germany, Kyle and Lindsay Watkins, Ben Eaves and fiancé Lauren Hobbs, and her beloved grandchildren Ella, Tom, Lydia, John "Nug", and William, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Services for Sally will be held on Saturday, July 22 at 10:00 am at Windwood Presbyterian Church. There will be a memorial service followed by a reception.
