Sally Jo (Stafford) Anderson passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 with her beloved husband and three daughters surrounding her. She sustained a heart attack and double bypass surgery in December 2020. There were complications because of her injuries and her lungs finally gave out. Sally lived a very full and joyful life for the 63 years God gave her. She was born on July 20, 1957 to Harry and Sonya Stafford. Sally grew up in Harvard, IL with her parents, older sister LeAnne (Stafford) Edgeton, and younger brother Jeff Stafford. The family spent many years dedicated to running their family-owned shoe store, Stafford Shoes, and they served the community through many volunteer efforts. Sally was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1968 and spent many years learning how to successfully manage her disease. During her high school career, Sally was very involved with the band and baton twirling programs. It was during her high school years that she met and received Jesus as her Savior and became actively involved in her church. She went on to Judson College where she met Paul Anderson, her husband. They married in October 1977 when she was 20 years old, and had three children: Karin (Edmiston), Kim (Hubbard), and Krissi (Smith). Sally took pride and joy in the training and raising of her three girls. She homeschooled the girls for over 10 years and remained active in the homeschool community as a mentor for many, including two of her daughters.

After living in Illinois for 43 years, Sally and her family moved to Texas in September of 2000. She started volunteering at Metropolitan Baptist Church and quickly became a member of the staff. During her 12 years there, she helped to build and run the FAITH program (an evangelism ministry). Sally then chose to stay home to support her husband and enjoy her 13 grandchildren. In 2015, Paul and Sally started attending Champion Forest Baptist Church to worship with their family. They began serving wherever needed, including becoming mentors in the United Life Group. Sally began volunteering at the church library on a weekly basis. This serving platform was a special joy to her because she liked maintaining the professionalism of the library and fostering her grandkids' appreciation of reading.

While everything above is a bare outline of her life, Sally lived a life of service to her family and to her God. Sally's sacrificial service and commitment to her family and her friends were the embodiment of who she was and a beautiful model of what a Christ-follower should be. She could always be found greeting, hugging, serving, and encouraging the people around her. She never met a stranger.

Sally lived a healthy and happy life with her family for 63 years. She is survived by her husband, Paul, three daughters, Karin (Brendon) Edmiston, Kim (Cory) Hubbard, and Krissi (Cole) Smith, 13 grandchildren, Hailey, Melody, Olivia, Melissa, Hope, Addison, Noble, Konner, Lillie, Hannah, Wyatt, Madalynn, and Elliana, and sister, LeAnne (Stafford) Edgeton.
