Ruth Ann Cassidy was born on December 29, 1955 in Houston, Texas and passed on to the heavenly realm just before sunrise on April 28, 2022.

A loving, intelligent and strong woman, her family was always the center of her life. The joy that she found in her granddaughter, Anjali's smile made her eyes light up and her heart warm. Ruth Ann loved nothing more than treating her family, Toby, Arjuna and Anjali, to fun vacations and soaking up time with them by their backyard pool. She was always the first to arrive at any function that supported her granddaughter – whether it was dance classes, recitals, soccer games or school plays - and truly believed that Anjali hung the moon. Unfailingly, she was a devoted mother and grandmother until the day the Lord called her home.

Always a pillar of strength and determination, Ruth Ann was proud to be one of the few female police officers in Montgomery County at the time. She later worked as a private investigator for the police department and several law firms. Her independent and entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her own investigative firm and later invest in real estate. She started a successful vacation rental business in Galveston and loved hosting guests at her sea-front condos. Her passion and zest for life was inspirational and these memories will live on for those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dr. Andrew and Minnie Ruth Rice, her sister, Andrea Rice Miodunski, and her nephew Jeremy Brice.

Ruth Ann is survived by her daughter, Toby Rolf, her son-in-law, Arjuna Polanco, and her granddaughter, Anjali Polanco. She is also survived by her brother Allen Kent Rice, Rebecca Rice Lanham, her brother Steven Rice as well as several nieces and nephews.
