Obituary

In Loving Memory of Ruth Jeanette Christensen Brocken

Ruth Jeanette Christensen Brocken, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on August 30, 1931, Ruth lived a life filled with faith, love, service, and devotion to family.

Ruth was the cherished wife of Norbert Brocken of 76 years, together they built a loving family that remained the center of her life. She is survived by her sons, Emil & wife Paula, David & wife Dottie, John & wife America.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Anquinette & Eli, Eric, Tasha & Chris, Jennifer & Ryan, Donny & Jennifer, Glenn, David Jr. & TaLisa, Jonathan & Jessica, Kenneth, Olga & Randy. She was also blessed with a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

For more than 30 years, Ruth dedicated her life to shaping young minds as a kindergarten teacher at Lutheran North Association (LNA). Her kindness, patience, and unwavering encouragement touched countless children and families throughout her career. The lessons she taught extended far beyond the classroom and left a lasting impact on generations of students.

A woman of deep faith, Ruth loved spending time with her church family and enjoyed fellowship with her bowling league and friends. She found happiness in reading, shopping, and traveling, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending quality time with her beloved family. Throughout her life, Ruth opened her heart to many, lovingly adopting countless "extra hearts" whom she considered family. Her warmth, generosity, and unconditional love made everyone feel welcome and valued.

Ruth will be remembered for her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, steadfast faith, and the endless love she shared with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the students she inspired, and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable 94 years.

Though she will be deeply missed; her family finds comfort in memories she created, the love she leaves behind, and the knowledge that through her faith and love for God she is resting with our savior.

May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her. ❤️
