Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Rus Bel announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, March 20 at the young age of 54.

Rus was born on September 24, 1963 in Seattle, WA. He moved to Killeen, TX in 1966 with his mother, MarJo and father, Fred and they later moved to Pidcoke, TX near Gatesville, TX. He graduated from Gatesville High School and later graduated from Central Texas College with honors in computer programming. He moved to Fairfax, VA to work for VM software as a computer programmer. He eventually ended up at Amdahl assisting many Fortune 500 companies with their IT service needs. He also held two Top-Secret clearances with the US government. He moved from Virginia to Germantown, MD where he met his future wife, Meg and they were married on October 30, 1999. They eventually moved to Franklin, MA and then finally moved to TX to live in Tomball. He started his computer business, The Best Geeks, from the ground up and has been an active member of the Tomball Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador. He was also a graduate of Leadership North Houston XX.

As an active small businessman, he loved to help others in whatever they needed and loved to support local businesses. One of his favorite things was to be the MC of a ribbon cutting for new incoming chamber members.

Rus was an avid sports junkie and would watch football, basketball, baseball or NASCAR when he had the time. His favorite football team, much to the chagrin of his wife, was the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved to watch the San Antonio Spurs or Houston Rockets. As a family, we supported the Houston Astros and were overjoyed like the rest of Houston to cheer the Astros to their first World Series.

He is survived by his wife, Meg and daughter Zoe, his father, Fred and his in-laws, James and Donna Stauber. Rus will also be remembered by his aunts, uncles, several cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother, MarJo Bel.

A liturgical service will be held at the Mary Chapel on the Prince of Peace Campus (date pending).

Memorial donations in memory of Rus can be made to the American Heart Association or Emergency Chaplain Group (emergencyminitries.org).
