Rudolpho "Rudy" Reyes passed away peacefully in the presence of loved ones on August 14, 2021 at the age of 91 in Spring, TX. He was born to Feliciano and Antonia (Araiza) Reyes on August 24, 1929 in Yorktown, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Army in Europe after World War II and returned to San Antonio to begin his adult life. He found his way to Houston where he discovered a passion in tree care. He literally climbed his way to the top and took Trees, Inc. to the national market. Upon retirement, he took a leap of faith and started Unique Total Tree's, Inc. which established a tree care industry standard second to none. He was instrumental in establishing a League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) chapter in Houston and was an active member of the Catholic Church, the Chamber of Commerce, and many organizations.
Rudy had many passions in life to include dancing, traveling, and bringing joy and happiness to all that he met. He was a gentleman from days gone by who loved to compliment others. He had innumerable friends.
He is survived by his daughters Belinda (George Sandoval) of Galveston, TX; Sandra (Adam Martinez) of Colorado Springs, CO; and Rozette (Craig Peckham) of Seabrook, TX; son Rudy (Kara) of Spring, TX; grandchildren - Robert and Christopher Werzner of Cheyenne, WY; and Gabrielle Vera of League City, TX. He also has two great granddaughters - Rose and Juliete Werzner of Cheyenne, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents and all siblings - Manuel, Roberto, Kukita, Florinda, Romansito, Maria de Jesus, Andres, Antonia, Feliciano, Maria de las Nieves, Guadalupe, Trinita, and Juan.
Visitation and a Rosary will be held on Monday, August 23rd at 5:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home (16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, TX 77379). A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 24th at 11:00 AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church (7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379). Interment will take place immediately afterwards.
