Rudolph "Rudy" Hood

Rudolph "Rudy" Hood, 96, of Spring, passed away August 10, 2019.  He was born January 12, 1923, in Beaumont, to the late Lonnie Calvin Hood and Edith Ludmilla Jones Hood. Rudy was a Navy pilot serving in the Pacific theater during World War II.  He was a recipient of the Navy Cross and 5 air medals.  After receiving a degree in business from the University of Houston, Rudy started his own bookkeeping company and became a CPA in 1972.  Rudy helped start 2 churches.  He served as the chairman of the board for the Mission Centers of Houston and on the budget and finance committee for the Baptist General Convention of Texas.  He was a life-long Sunday school teacher and faithful member of Champion Forest Baptist Church.

He is preceded by his parents, Lonnie and Edith Hood: his siblings, Lonnie C Hood Jr.,  Dorothy Glen Hood Droddy, James (Jimmy) Neal Hood.

He is survived by Mary Jane, his wife his wife of 72 years; daughters, Suzanne Woodard and Peggy House (husband Glenn); grandchildren, Lindsey Phillips (husband Danny), Leanne Woodard, Cliff House (wife Tiffany), Aaron House (wife Emily) and Amber House; great-grandchildren, Tobin Phillips, Elliott Phillips, Isaac House, Micah House, Gema House, Caleb House and Aria House; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: August 20, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Klein Funeral home (Champions).

Memorial Service: August 21, 2019 at 10:30 am at Champion Forest Baptist Church.
