Obituary

Ruben Sierra Sr., 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in the presence of his loving wife of 53 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Born on April 14, 1951, in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico, Ruben was a devoted husband and father whose life was defined by love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He began his journey as a Master Jeweler in 1966 in Monterrey, Mexico, and later brought his talents to Houston, where he continued to build his career until his retirement in January of 2020.

Ruben was a man of quiet strength, integrity, and generosity. His kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Despite the demands of his profession, he always prioritized time with his family, which brought him his greatest joy.

His legacy lives on in the countless lives he influenced with his skill, his humility, and his heart. He will be remembered not only for his dedication to his craft, but more importantly, for the love and the wisdom he shared so freely.

Ruben was preceeded in death by his late father, Manuel Sierra; his mother, Carolina (Garza) Sierra; and four siblings. Ruben is survived by his loving wife, Maricela (Martinez) Sierra; daughter, Karmina Sierra; son, Ruben Sierra Jr. and daughter-in-law, Belinda Barron; and family and friends.

The family will receive visitors Friday, May 23, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065. The Rosary will be prayed from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and a funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon David Carrasco presiding.

Ruben Sierra Sr., de 74 años, de Houston, Texas, falleció en paz el 17 de mayo de 2025, acompañado por su querida esposa, con quien compartió 53 años de matrimonio. Será muy extrañado por todos los que lo conocieron y lo amaron.

Ruben nació el 14 de abril de 1951 en Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. Fue un esposo y padre muy dedicado, y su vida siempre estuvo guiada por el amor, el esfuerzo y un compromiso firme con su familia. Comenzó su trayectoria como Maestro Joyero en 1966 en Monterrey, México, y más adelante llevó su talento a Houston, donde continuó desarrollando su carrera hasta su jubilación en enero de 2020.

Ruben era un hombre de fortaleza, integridad y generosidad. Siempre fue amable con quienes lo rodeaban. Aunque su trabajo requería mucho, su prioridad siempre fue pasar tiempo con su familia, lo que más felicidad le daba.

Deja una gran huella en muchas personas que lo conocieron, no solo por su talento y humildad, sino por el cariño y los consejos que daba con el corazón. Será recordado por su dedicación, pero sobre todo por el amor que entregó a los suyos.

Ruben fue recibido en el cielo por su papá, Manuel Sierra; su mamá, Carolina (Garza) Sierra; y cuatro hermanos. Le sobreviven su esposa Maricela (Martínez) Sierra; su hija Karmina Sierra; su hijo Ruben Sierra Jr. y su nuera Belinda Barrón; además de familiares y amigos.

La familia recibirá visitas el viernes 23 de mayo de 2025, de 3:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m. en Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065. El Rosario se rezará de 7:00 p.m. a 7:30 p.m., y después se llevará a cabo el servicio religioso a las 7:30 p.m. con el Diácono David Carrasco.
