Rozella Elaine McNitt of Cypress, Texas, passed away September 15th, 2024. She was born February 5th, 1950, in Worthington, Minnesota.

She grew up in Watertown, South Dakota, and attended South Dakota University. She moved to Denton, Texas, where she attended North Texas State and Texas Women's University. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics.

After college, she started her nearly thirty-year career with Amoco Corporation at their research facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While there, she met the love of her life, Gary. Her career included many different postings in Tulsa and Houston as she rose up through management. She volunteered to mentor young women on how to succeed in corporate America. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

After retirement, she enrolled in a Master Gardener class through Texas A&M. She then devoted herself to volunteering with her HOA and managing the thousands of trees in the neighborhood. She also dove into crafting and became proficient at wreath-making. Many of her friends and relatives have these beautiful Rozella-made wreaths to remember her by.

She is survived by her husband, Gary McNitt; her sister, Kimberly Casavan, and brother, Jason Stone. She is also survived by her stepson Mark McNitt and his wife Jammie and stepson Guy McNitt and his wife Cynthia and granddaughters Kylie and Tori and grandson Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marcella Manitz Stone and Melvin Schroeder.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12, at 2pm at the Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379.
