Roy Bryan Moore, 66 of Waller, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2024. Roy was born on June 16, 1958 to Homer and Dorothy Moore.
Roy graduated from Tomball High School in 1976 and attended Sam Houston State University. After college Roy signed up with the Houston Fire Academy to become a Houston Firefighter. In 1982, Roy graduated from the Academy and began his long successful career with the Houston Fire Department. He worked his way through the ranks and retired as a District Chief in 2021 after 40 years.
Roy kept busy in retirement. He bought a beach house in Sargent, Texas and loved to be there as often as he could. He loved being on his boat and fishing was a passion. He enjoyed going to Coushatta, placing a few bets and rolling the dice. As a Texans' season ticket holder, he loved going to the games even during the losing seasons. He especially loved when his son Cole could be there with him. He loved his Coors Light and a margarita at tequila time!
Roy was a special person with a sweet personality. He had many friends and thousands of stories to tell. He brought a lot of laughs and entertainment to many. He will be missed by all.
Roy is survived by his son Cole (Rachel); grandson Jude; sisters Eva Grant; Ann Wankum (Gary); Aunt Claudine Possoit; nieces Laura Grant; Jamie Grant; Kelly Wankum; Lisa Gutierrez.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Homer Moore; mother Dorothy Moore; daughter Rachael Moore.
Roy was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will forever be missed.
