Roy W. Adams, age 89, was born on May 1, 1936, in Gary, TX and passed away in the early hours with his wife Judy by his side on March 19, 2026, in Spring, TX. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, a man of deep faith, quiet strength, and a warm, generous spirit, Roy touched countless lives throughout his many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Harvy and Anabel Adams; brother, Mondee Adams; sisters, Billie Jean Milford and Betty Lou Wedgeworth.

Roy and his (late) first wife, Monty Pharr Adams, were married for 46 wonderful years. They welcomed two children and is survived by his daughter, Tammy Buford (David) and son, Todd Adams (Amy), who were the pride of Roy's life, also, wife, Judy Adams, her daughters; Sheri Duncan (Dutch Leussink) and Jamie Wainwright (Wyatt) and brother-in-law, Tom Pharr (Linda).

He is also survived by his grandchildren; Laura Tarver (Andy Halbe), Russell Tarver (Marti), Zach Adams (Kristen), Emily Adams (Kalechi David), Curtis Ross, Phillip Ross, Chelsea Turner, Cullen Wainwright (Priscilla Olson); great grandchildren; Kallie Giles, Kehlani David and Noah Ross; nieces, Patsy Chambless (Mike), Jane Hoffpauiar (Barry) and nephews; Bob Adams (Karen) and Andy Wedgeworth (Liz).

He graduated from Carthage High school in Carthage, TX. Continuing his education with Panola Junior College and eventually graduating from University of Houston where he received his Certified Public Accounting degree. He was exceptionally intelligent and dedicated over 40 years to practicing as a Certified Public Accountant in the Houston area, earning the respect and trust of colleagues and clients alike.

Roy also served in the United States Navy Reserves for 8 years.

He played the clarinet and basketball in High school and had a sportsmanlike spirit for all sports. Especially watching a Carthage High Game and the Bulldogs winning many state championships. Roy also loved U of H Cougars and followed them faithfully.

He was first and foremost a family man—deeply devoted to his children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and his extended family. Nothing brought him more joy than gathering everyone for a visit filled with laughter, love, and good memories. He was known for his fun‑loving personality, Roy enjoyed a good joke and never missed a chance to make someone smile.

A faithful Christian, Roy served as a deacon at Aldine Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, before moving to the Spring area, where he became a member of Spring Baptist Church. His faith guided the way he lived—as a loving father, a caring husband, and a steadfast provider.

Roy loved traveling, especially long road trips. Over the years he explored nearly every state in the country—missing only the Dakotas—and expanded his adventures abroad to Europe, South America, Brazil, Spain, and Italy. He was curious about the world and delighted in every new place he visited.

Roy was a talented pit master who took great pleasure in cooking for those he loved. His barbecues, Frogmore Stew, and delicious homemade beef jerky were favorites among family and friends and became traditions everyone looked forward to.

After Monty's passing, Roy was blessed to reconnect with and later marry Judy, whom he had known since high school. Their 23 years together were filled with devotion, companionship, and countless shared memories. Judy's family quickly became Roy's own, and he embraced them wholeheartedly. Together, Roy and Judy traveled across the United States and enjoyed many special trips with their dear friends Ben Royden and Jan Ogletree.

Roy lived a life marked by love, loyalty, humor, and generosity. His legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Bristol Hospice nurse, Vicki Thomas and aide, Lisa Sumlin. Roy loved these women, and they had many laughs and took excellent care of him in his final days. Judy will forever be grateful to both of these precious ladies.

A graveside service will be held to honor his memory on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Klein Memorial Park (9714 Farm to Market 2920, Tomball, TX 77375).
