In Loving Memory of Roxann Wood Harris
October 15, 1953 – May 3, 2025
With profound love and admiration, we celebrate the beautiful life of Roxann Wood Harris, who passed away peacefully after a courageous journey with cancer. She was 71.
Born on October 15, 1953, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Roy and Gene Wood, Roxann brought light and laughter wherever she went. She graduated from Hall High School in 1971 and went on to study Drama at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, where she met the love of her life, Robert Harris. Their story was one of deep partnership and unwavering devotion, spanning 47 wonderful years of marriage.
After college, Roxann and Robert made their home in Houston, Texas, where she began a long and successful career in banking. But her greatest role was that of mother — a role she embraced with grace, strength, and limitless love for her daughter, Reagan. To know Roxann was to know kindness, resilience, and joy.
An avid reader of books, a passionate traveler, and a loyal friend to many, Roxann filled her days with meaning. Whether she was exploring new places, diving into a novel, or sharing laughter with friends, she lived each moment with intention and warmth.
Roxann faced her cancer diagnosis in October 2017 with remarkable strength and dignity and continued to live fully and generously throughout her journey. She was widowed in November 2022, and carried Robert's memory with her every step of the way.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate care teams at MD Anderson and Houston Hospice, whose support brought great comfort in Roxann's final chapter.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and quiet courage — one that will live on in her daughter, in the memories of those who knew her, and in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and grace.
