Rose Fraser Jacobson, 88, passed away on September 14, 2022. She was born the oldest of five children on September 4, 1934, to Swepson Floyd Fraser, M.D. and Rosa Pearl Horn Fraser. She grew up in Many, Louisiana where she graduated from Many High School as valedictorian of the class of 1952. She received a B. A. degree from Newcomb College of Tulane University where she was president of the senior class of 1956 and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While at Newcomb she joined Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and served as president of the chapter her senior year.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold G. "Jake" Jacobson and three children, Laura Hicks and husband Charles, Gregg Jacobson and wife, Missy, and Amy Rivers and husband Thomas, M.D. She is also survived by her four siblings and their spouses, six grandchildren, Trent, Trevor, Lexi, and Ashlyn Rivers and Emily and Matthew Jacobson, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was lovingly devoted to her family and friends and spent many happy hours with them. She continued to be active in Kappa Alpha Theta, endowing a scholarship for undergraduate members. She enjoyed her membership in several bridge clubs. She was active in the Boys and Girls Country Auxiliary where she served as president and chairman of the Spring Festival. She has been an active member of Champion Forest Baptist Church since 1974, serving as a second grade Sunday School teacher and teaching Vacation Bible School. In her later years she was a member of a Life Group where she enjoyed many special friendships.
The family wishes to thank Rosalind Coleman, Joshanta "JoJo" Green, Judy Yates, and Yvette Glass for their dedication and compassionate care for our wife and mother.
The family would be honored by gifts in memory of Rose to Boys and Girls Country, 18806 Roberts Road, Hockley, Texas 77447.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 18 from 5-7 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champions Forest Drive, Spring, Texas.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday September 19 at 10 am at Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner Airline Road, Houston, Texas.
