Rose Frazar Foreman, 79, of Houston passed away after a brief fight with Stage 4 cancer on Monday, December 19, 2016. Rose was born to Thomas Cook and Margaret Thompson Frazar, who predeceased her, in DeRidder, La., where she grew up. She graduated from DeRidder High School, where she enjoyed being a majorette. Rose continued as a majorette when she attended McNeese State College. She grew up active in the First United Methodist Church of DeRidder and remained a life long member of the United Methodist church. She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Howell Dudley Foreman Jr. whom she met while he was working for an engineering firm in Lake Charles, La. His engineering jobs took them to homes in Louisiana, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Texas (twice), settling permanently in Houston.
In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by her beloved children, Howell Dudley Foreman III, Janet Foreman Eckert and her husband Matthew; by granddaughters Melanie and Sydney Foreman; by her sister, JoAnn Frazar Porter; and by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Rose will be cremated and interred in the Houston National Cemetery in early 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org/donate? or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Texas Gulf Coast Chapter http://www.jdrf.org/ .
