Obituary

Rose Marie Campbell

Rose Marie Campbell, age 73, of Houston, TX passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Rose Marie was born November 18, 1945 to Liandro and Rosalie (Palacios) Ramirez.

She was a beloved wife, mother, Mimi, daughter, sister, and friend.

Rose Marie worked 27 years for the Harris County Sheriff's Office and was the first Hispanic female detective. During her HCSO career, she worked in many areas including Special Investigations Unit, Vice, Narcotics, Internal Affairs and was a member of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. She joined the FBI Violent Fugitives Task Force in late 1994, where she remained for the next 12 years. She may have been small in stature, but any of her co-workers would tell you she was a force to be reckoned with. She left behind a legacy that others have already begun to follow.

She retired in 2007 and enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. She also enjoyed helping others in many ways throughout her life, and was an active member of St. Cuthbert Episcopal Church. She lived life fully and was an inspiration to others. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She never met a stranger, as is evident by the numerous close friends she leaves behind.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Tim Campbell; children, Russell (Christine) Cerda, Yvonne (Robert) Ellis, Lisa (Brian) Wentz, Amy (Faustino) Diaz; grandchildren, Alex, Michael, and Angelina Cerda, Taylor and Jason Ellis, Jordan, Madison, and Kaitlyn Wentz, Eliza and Ariel Diaz; mother, Rosalie P. Ramirez; sisters, Yolanda Garza, and Anna Lee (Tony) Garza; father-in-law, Raymond Campbell; sisters-in-law, Teresa Campbell, and Allison Pfotenhauer. She is preceded in death by her father Liandro Ramirez; brother-in-law, Mariano Garza; and mother-in-law Esther Campbell.

There will be a celebration of Rose Marie's life on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Cuthbert Episcopal Church, 17020 West Road, Houston, Texas. A reception will follow the service.
