Obituary

Rosario "Nanay Charing" Villamar Batongbacal was the most thoughtful, generous, and loving sibling, mother, and grandmother. She passed away in loving arms on October 22, 2023 at age 87. She was born to Olympia Macalalad Villamar and Timateo Villamar on October 6, 1936. After graduating from nursing school at Manilla Central University in the Philippines, she would then work at NCMH, Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital, Spring Branch, Doctor's Hospital Airline, a hospital in Miami, Florida, and a hospital in Philadelphia.

Just across the street from her house in Marilao, she met her husband, Elmo Batongbacal, and had 4 children named Jocelyn, Irineo, Nestor and Lourdes. From her children, she had 7 grandchildren named Adrian, Roxanne Jessica, Elinor, Roxette Joy, Rain John, Memo, and Alexandra. From those grandchilden, she had 3 great grandchildren named Barrett, Garreth, and Glad. Nanay Charing was everyone's favorite cook as she was known for her "world" famous Pan de Sal, Biko, Mocha Cake, Spaghetti, Kare-Kare, Mamon, and more. While she wasn't cooking, her main hobbies included watching Filipino soap-operas, watching fishing videos on YouTube, watching the food network, praying to God, and making sure everyone around her was well fed and happy.

Together with Jocelyn, Ireneo, Nestor, Lourdes and her remaining sibling Remedios, join us as we celebrate her life. Viewing and funeral service details can be found bellow.
