Rosalyn "Shenae" Moten, beautiful daughter, sister, aunt and cousin was born on April 27, 1977 in Houston Texas. She entered the gates of Heaven on March 24, 2021 after battling a short illness. She is the most beautiful angel in Heaven, proceeded in death by her Father Robert Johnson Jr., Maternal Grandmother Effie Williams - Moten, Maternal Grandfather Elmer Moten, Paternal Grandmother Sister Rosie Johnson, Uncle Bobby Lee Moten, Aunt Marie Woods, Cousin Alonzo, Niece Alonzia Claire, Nephew Demitrius Lee, Fiancé Eddie and Brother-in-Law Carey White (Zena).

Surviving Shenae on earth is her Mother Alma Long, Brothers Chris Moten (Lisa), Dunta "Buck" Pickett, & Rodney Johnson. Sisters Zena White, Phyllis Ushery & Melba Lee, all of Houston Texas.  Uncles Johnny Moten, Tony Moten & Sylvester Johnson. Aunts Marilyn Matthews (Lawrence), Carolyn Jones, Joyce Walker & Valma Johnson. Shenae had many loved cousins, nieces & nephews, who continue to bless this earth with her love and laughter. She also has a very special friend, Chuck Fuller, who filled her world with love, grace, peace and laughter since 2016.

Shenae had a very close bond with her brother, Chris. Often, they would fuss – because neither of them was ever wrong, but Chris would often succumb to Shenae's perseverance. Since they were very small children, Chris was her protector – leading her from wrong to right. They had so many good times, the rough patches did not seem to matter. Just as much as Chris loved her, she loved him just as much. Chris was with Shenae during her very last days advocating for her during her illness.

Shenae also had an extraordinary love for her sister, Zena. They were alike in so many ways that you could mistake their characteristics for twins. They both have a deep connection for family and their energy together was immeasurable! A sisterly bond such as theirs is irreplaceable, one that would make us all envious to have a relationship so close. Along with Chris, Zena was with Shenae during her last days.

As mentioned above, Shenae held the relationships with her family very near to her heart. She has many cousins on both sides who will hold all the memories they have with her close to them. Shenae was the life of the party at many family events – if it was not a party, believe she made it one. She made every day of her life worth living and brought her huge personality with her to put smiles on everyone's face. She also has cousins that she would have to keep in line, specifically Trent, whom she loved with every ounce of her heart and soul.

In addition to her close relationships with all her family, Shenae had very dear friendships with 2 individuals specifically – Stephene Dickerson & Nicola Williams. They grew up together from a very young age, causing mischief for everyone in the neighborhood. These gals were so close, Shenae was in the delivery room for the birth most of Nicola's children, catching them when they came out. Just like she was there to support Nicola in her birthing journey, she gave that exact same support and energy in the births of Stephene's children as well. Shenae was a second mother to all the kids, and a confidant to them as they grew into mature young adults. They will miss her more than words can explain.

Shenae was employed as a Customer Retention Representative since 2010 for Just Energy in Houston, TX. With her job, she filled her place of employment with love, joy & laughter. She will be dearly missed by her family at Just Energy, specifically her great friend Beto, aka Papi, who lead her through the loss of her father. In addition to Papi, she had multiple co-workers who would become family to her.

Shenae had a close bond with her church leader, Apostle Reginald Rice. He knew Shanea's life in ways most of us did not know at her church home. Shenae loved the lord and knew him in ways many of us will never experience. She brought people to faith and laid her hand on many individuals, so they could experience the power of Christ that ran through her veins. God knew she was an angel on earth when he put her here.

When Shenae was not working or spending time with her family, she spent her time travelling. Many times, Alma and Chris did not know where she was disappearing to, until she would call and send photos telling them how much of a good time she was having. She had the time of her life in places such as New York, Las Angeles, Las Vegas & Puerto Rico.

Rosalyn will be loved and missed by so many here in the natural life. But God said her work on Earth was done, and he was ready to bring her to Heaven. During this time, we should be relaxed in knowing that she is in the most beautiful place that we all strive to be. Although her work here was done, her memory will live on. Her life was for a bigger purpose than what we realize now. Please, act in knowing that we will all see Shenae's beautiful smile, big personality & heavy presence again, where she will be whole and complete.
