Obituary

Ronnie Johnnie (Ron) Sralla, 72, of Cypress, Texas, passed from this life on September 11, 2024. He was born on February 20, 1952, to Edward and Tillie Sralla of LaSalle, Texas.

Ron was born and raised in the small farming community of LaSalle, Texas. The youngest of four children, Ron thrived in their rural lifestyle, playing sports and participating in agricultural club activities.

Ron graduated from Industrial High School. He played football all four years, receiving a letter in Football. Ron also enjoyed raising livestock for 4H and the adventure of getting away from home to participate at the Fair.

Ron attended Tarleton State University where he majored in Agricultural Business.  Instead of his plans to become an extension agent, life led him to the international shipping business. Ron worked for several international companies and traveled across the world for business.

Ron and Melinda met at church in Cypress and were married December of 1988. They have celebrated over 35 years of marriage.

After retirement, Ron and Melinda enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel camper and seeing the sights across the United States.

Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He served in many ways in his church, and he will be remembered for his strong faith in Jesus Christ and for sharing his faith with others. He had a heart to care for missionaries and for mission work. Ron was an active member of Gideons International, serving on the State Cabinet.

He took pride in his Czech heritage, and he remained in contact with the community and its customs from his youth.

Ron enjoyed growing roses and planting trees in the neighborhood and found joy in his dog Forest. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, especially sharing with friends. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and wit.

On September 11, 2024 Ron passed away of natural causes and went to join his Savior while surrounded by people he loved and that loved him.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Melinda, son Jared (Rachel), brother Edward (Mary Jane), sister Rose Marie (Danny) Brown, and multiple beloved members of their large extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Sralla and Tillie Sembera Sralla, and sister Dorothy Petty.
