Ronald Lynn Snider

October 13, 1950 – December 30, 2024

Lynn Snider wrote as his goal in life, "My objective is to serve the Lord in all I do, and to bring Him honor and glory through every endeavor of my life." He accomplished his goal, and he presented his life to his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 30, 2024, after a long battle with heart disease and cancer.

Lynn was born October 13, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas, to Melba Jeannette Isaacs Snider and Weldon Leo Snider. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1969, attended West Texas State University, and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1974. He graduated with a Masters in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1981. He also did doctoral study at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.

Lynn was currently serving as Executive Director of South Texas Baptist Association and pastor of First Baptist Church Rosehill in Tomball, Texas. His previous ministries were at Westway Baptist Church (Houston), First Baptist Church (Van,Tx), Calvary Hills Baptist (San Antonio), First Baptist West (Lawton, Ok), Belaire Baptist (Carrollton, TX), Fairway Baptist (Wichita Falls), First Baptist Carrollton as singles minister, and Cleo Spring Baptist (Okla). He taught high school science in Borger, TX, Arapaho, OK, and Carrollton, TX, while Brenda finished her education.

Lynn married Brenda Dee Barrier on January 11, 1975, in Lubbock. He will be buried in Lubbock in the Barrier family plot on January 11, 2025, on their 50th wedding anniversary. Lynn and Brenda prayed for a child, and Luke Samuel Snider was born on March 12, 1983. Luke is the joy of their life. He is married to Laci Martell Snider who is also their joy. Lynn is survived by Gaye Suzanne Snider Sougstad (and David) and Joan Alane Snider Simons (and Doyle). He is also survived by many sisters and brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews from the Childs, Yarbrough, Sougstad, and Simon families. His family also includes Judy and Bill Martell, Laci's delightful parents.

Lynn's greatest delight besides his marriage and family has been serving the Lord. He has many friends and colleagues from his years of ministry. He was always proud of his Eagle Scout Award. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Through the years he LOVED fishing (don't ask why), boating, hunting, snow skiing, golf, and paying for Brenda's horses. They had a date night at the movies every Friday. The waiters at Cinepolis theater know to bring Diet Cokes without asking. If you need a movie review, just ask.

The family wants to give special thanks to the compassionate and expert care he received from Dr. Robert Aertker (Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group cardiology) Dr. Thimos Paschalis (Internist), and Dr. Craig Kovitz (MDAnderson Cancer Center oncology). We also want to thank Karen Childs, Brenda's sister, for her constant vigil at the hospital. Thank you to Bill and Judy Martell, Caro and Eddie Norris, Hal and Cherie Wychopen, Rafael Paez, and Josh Allen for their support in his last days. Thank you to Isabella, ICU housekeeper at St. Luke's, for praying and singing over him every day. Thank you to Klein Funeral Home for its compassionate and generous service.

Services will be in Tomball and Lubbock with burial at the Lubbock Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Anchor Church, Tomball, Rafael Paez, pastor, or the Southern Baptist International Mission Board to support missionaries overseas.

Above all, Lynn was faithful to Jesus, his marriage, and his family. Well done, good and faithful servant of the Lord.
