Ronald Stephen Richter, 71, of Houston, Texas passed away on August 6, 2025. Ron was born on July 24, 1954, in Lansing, Michigan to Walter Jackson Richter and Lucille Mae (Rich) Richter. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Lee Gaus, in 1974. They were together for 51 years. He graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) with a degree in Packaging Management. Ron worked in various divisions of Texas Instruments, Inc. for 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed reading, photography, gardening, and traveling. He also enjoyed watching MSU basketball and the Houston Astros. He had the privilege of visiting all of the major league baseball parks and, for the last two years, he was able to be a grandpa to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Angela Nicole Melvin, and his son-in-law, Colin Erik Melvin; his two granddaughters, Harper Grace Melvin and Autumn Jean Melvin; his son, Robert Christopher Richter; his aunt, Goldie McLaughlin; his sister, Karen Teresa Richter; his nephew, Jacob Benjamin Richter Elbert; and his brother, Brian Andrew Richter. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a visitation on August 16, 2025 at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, Texas 77065, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 11522 Telge Road, Cypress, Texas 77429, on August 23, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Brad Otto and Pastor Alma Gast officiating.

God's Garden

God looked around his garden

It broke our hearts to lose you

But you didn't go alone.
