Ronald Dean Merecka was born on October 14, 1946 to John and Olga Merecka. The family resided in Praha and eventually moved to Flatonia, Texas. Ronnie graduated from Flatonia High School in 1965. After moving to Houston right out of high school, he graduated from an electrician trade school and retired after 46 years as a licensed master electrician.

His main focus after retirement was being an even more involved dad, grandpa and recently great-grandpa. For his relaxing time and hobbies, he loved "piddling at the farm" in Flatonia, watching the stock market, watching old Westerns, listening to his 50s-60s and his Beach Boys, playing his FreeCell card game, attending every family reunion or Czech event he could find, but most importantly watching all of his grandchildren grow up and do well in life!

Ronnie was a committed lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for over 20 years, spending 17 of those years on the BBQ Committee. Ronnie also overwhelmingly devoted 32 years to the TJ SOKOL of Houston organization, a Czech non-profit organization focusing on youth gymnastics. He held many titles, such as the Southern District-Vice President and the Houston President for over 10 years.

He is survived by his children Brenda Merecka Rodriguez, son-n-law Fred Rodriguez, Rhonda Merecka Williams, son-n-law Rodney Williams; grandchildren: Victoria Pearce and husband Brett Pearce, Brent Wright, Keely Williams, Kaden Williams and Kamryn Williams; great-grandchild: Kylee Pearce.
