In Loving Memory of

Ronald Steven Irby

July 8th, 1947 – October 22nd, 2023

Ron passed away peacefully at his home in Dickinson, TX on October 22nd, 2023.  He was born in Houston, TX where he lived for most of his life. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Troy and Betty Irby and his son Stevan Irby. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Susan ("Susie") Irby, one child Scott Irby, his wife Sarah and brother Terry Irby and wife Terri.  Ron also adored all his nieces and nephews, who he was famously known to them as the "Cookie Monster."  Ron also thought the world of his many brother and sister-in-laws.

Ron graduated from Texas Christian University in 1970 and, after working in the Dallas-area restaurant business, came back to Houston to start his first company West Oaks Enterprises. He spent many years delivering the highest quality of craftsmanship and service for his clients under this and other businesses until his eventual retirement in 2010.

Ron loved fishing, vintage cars, carpentry and spending time with his family and dog Rowdy. He could regularly be found working in his garage, on his boat or in his shop as he loved fixing things and working with his hands.

A celebration of life is being held at Klein Memorial Park on October 30th, 2023 at 11:30 AM. Following the ceremony, a private reception will be held at the home of Mick McKirahan.

In lieu of standard remembrances, it is requested that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
