Ronald Phillip Holter of Magnolia, Texas (formerly of Groves, Texas) passed away on Saturday, May 25 in Tomball, Texas.  He was 76 years old.  He was born in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Arthur and Katherine Holter.

Besides his family, Ron had many other interests.  He was proud of helping start the Siberian Husky Club in Houston and also the Corvair Club in Houston.  His love of cars started with his first, which was a 1955 Chevy Four Door that cost $300.00.  He came full circle to having several more 1955 Chevrolets and being a Board Member of the San Jacinto Region of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America for several terms.  In 2011 he and Linda started going on VCCA tours and accumulated several more antique cars to be able to attend any vintage tour.  He drove his 1928 Roadster over Teton Pass with white knuckles in 2015.  There are a lot of stories over those years traveling with fellow Chevy lovers who became family.  In addition, he had a love of model trains and built several HO gauge layouts including the current one in Magnolia.  Before his vision started to give him issues, he also enjoyed flying radio-controlled model airplanes (and crashing a few).

He was proud to be a Veteran and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after serving two tours in Vietnam, working in Naval Aviation.  When he got out of the service, he attended Lamar University in Beaumont.

His career was in residential real estate as an appraiser in Houston, working many years with David Brooks & Associates.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, her daughter Ariana Stone and husband John Morris, and their daughter, Madeleine Morris.  He is also survived by his sister, Judy Ann Grissom of Port Neches, Texas, her daughter Danielle Laird (his God daughter) and husband, John, and their son, Nicholas, of Dickinson, Texas, and his brother Robert Allen Holter and wife, Linda, of Magnolia, Texas.  He had numerous cousins in the Golden Triangle and in Minnesota, and was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Terry Dan Grissom.

Ron always had a dog or two by his side (and occasionally even a cat).
