Ronald Dean Ham, beloved son, husband, and father, passed away on September 2, 2022 at the age of 63. He was a resident of Conroe, TX.

Ron was born on April 12th, 1959. He grew up on his family's farm in Osage, Iowa and graduated from Osage High in 1977 where he wrestled and played football. That same year, he made the Iowa State football team as a center and went on with that team to compete in the Peach Bowl. He later received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Technology from  the University of Northern Iowa.  He cherished his college memories and remained an avid football fan throughout his life. Ron pursued work that aligned with his passion and natural ability to create, spending his career in the construction industry working on projects that spanned from Houston bridges, to the White Sox stadium, to his family home. Ron was a natural salesmen who went above and beyond to do everything with excellence.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carol Ham, eldest daughter Britney, her husband Steven, and his three beloved granddaughters, Petra, Helena, and Sophia, as well as his youngest daughter Kirsten and her fianc é Kai.

He is also survived by his parents, Keith and Marlene Ham of Osage, Iowa. His brother Jim, his wife Janet, their two daughters, Julia and Jenna as well as his sister Jean, her husband Ronnie, and their daughter Taylor.

Ron was a brain cancer survivor who persevered through incredible odds when he was only 31. His experience led to him volunteering at MD Anderson, meeting with and lifting the spirits of fellow cancer patients and their families. Ron was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being on the water, hunting, fishing as well as golfing and taking his Goldens and Labradors on walks. He enjoyed nothing more than a barbecue with friends, a good book, a classic Western film, a Minnesota Vikings victory, and the "W" flag flying for the Chicago Cubs.

He was a devoted husband, and he loved his family dearly. He and Carol shared a love of the beach. They traveled together whenever possible and passed their love of the waves and sand onto their daughters. Ron was the ultimate girl dad before it was trendy. Whether it was a soccer or volleyball game, a TCU football game, or working with them to renovate their homes, he was always there, unwavering in his support. He took pride in preparing their school lunches in the morning, teaching them how to build, how to drive a stick shift, and how to never take life too seriously. He was his daughters biggest cheerleader. Later in life, his three granddaughters became his greatest joy, and he loved nothing more spending time with them, watching them grow and experience the world.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of Ron's life on Saturday, September 10th at Woodsedge Community Church (address?) at 1:30PM where he attended and worshipped for 24 years.
