Ronald Wayne Foster was born February 6, 1947 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to Bill and Christine Foster. He was the oldest of 5 brothers, and lived in Atlanta until he was 7 years old, when the family moved to Columbus, Georgia, Headland, Alabama, and Thomaston, Georgia. In 1959, at the age of 12, they moved back to Atlanta.

In 1965 Ron graduated from Avondale High School, and then went to Truett McCconell College as a ministerial student. He served as a youth director at Monroe First Baptist and Mountain View Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

He served 2 years in the United States Army where he was stationed in South Korea from 1968 to 1970.

After returning to Atlanta, he moved to Houston in the mid 1970s. He went to the University of Houston where he met the love of his life, Marion Stella Madonio, and graduated with a degree in Journalism. He worked for The Daily Cougar, the University's newspaper, where he interviewed several political figures and wrote science articles.  Ron and Marion married June 18, 1977.

In 1980 they gave birth to their first child, Elaine Lois Foster. In 1983 they had their second child, Samuel William Foster. During the 1980s and 1990s Ron worked in the burgeoning personal computer industry.

Later in life he was an English tutor at Houston Community College and was passionate about working with English as a Second Language students.

Ron spent the last several years of his life in Magnolia, Texas, and loved working around the house, sitting outside in nature, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. In 2019 he was diagnosed with the cancer that would take his life in 2021.

Ron was loved by many people who were drawn to his charisma and optimism. We will miss him dearly.
