On November 29th, 2021 Roland Thomas Gray, surrounded by his family and loved ones, graduated into the arms of his lord and savior Jesus. He was 80 years old.

Roland Thomas, known by his friends and family as "Tommy," was born September 26th, 1941 at Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas to Mother and Father William "Buddy" and Katherine "Kate" Gray. He went to Spring Branch and Jeff Davis High School. After school, he married his high school sweetheart Karen Suber. They were married for almost 62 years. Together Tommy and Karen had 2 sons, Roland Thomas Gray Jr and William Robert Gray.  His family was Tommy's biggest pride in life. He served his country in the Air Force as a mechanic and went on to have an accomplished and illustrious career as a stationary engineer. In addition to teaching classes at San Jacinto Junior College, Tommy Retired after 25+ years with the City of Houston as the Assistant Director of the Houston Civic Center. There he managed The Wortham Center, Alley Theatre, Albert Thomas Building, Jones Hall, and George R. Brown Convention Center, among others.

Tommy was a kind and easy-going man. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, RVing, and traveling. He was a friend to all that knew him. In addition to his years of service in the military, Tommy was a proud American who believed in America and all the best this country has to offer. He was often found sitting in a chair, camping or on the back patio, enjoying his favorite music (Merle Haggard & George Jones) with a friend, telling a good joke.
