IN LOVING MEMORY

Roland Tayler, age 93, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Cypress, TX, where he resided with his wife since 1999. He was born on February 22, 1928, in St. Louis, MO. His family moved to El Paso, TX in 1932, where he graduated from Ysleta High School in 1946. After a stint in the Marine Corp., Roland attended Texas College of Mines. Concurrently, he worked for AT&T plowing coax cable from the Texas Hueco Mountains to Blyth, CA. He also worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company from 1952 until he retired in 1983. He advanced through the organization from pipeline maintenance to Director of Right of Way.

Even as a child, Roland has always been an avid fisherman and was known to many as "Fish." He taught us all to fish and has left us with many fond memories of over sixty years of amazing fishing trips and "fish stories."

Roland is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Patricia. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Florence Tayler and his sister, Jane Pope. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his daughters Jeanette Bowen and husband Rick and Joyce Brooks and husband Scott; granddaughter Samantha Heisch and husband Phillip and grandson Matthew Brooks. He is also survived by two great-granddaughters Audrey and Emily Heisch. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Village Green Assisted Living/Memory Care. The family is planning a military service at Ft. Bliss, TX.
