Rodrigo Leόn was born in Salamanca, GTO.Mexico on March 12, 1938. He was born to a large and loving family in a small rural community. He worked tirelessly to provide a better life for his wife and 10 surviving children. His devotion to family led him to the United States, where he worked for decades as a craftsman, welder, and lastly as a Master Pipefitter. He retired as a skilled laborer after 43 years. His retirement did not slow him down as he was always lending his skills and helping hands to those in need.  He loved sharing his talents and was most happy when he was caring for his family and helping others.

His dedication as a husband and father was deeply anchored in his love for God.  He professed his Catholic faith openly and exuberantly. Rodrigo was always willing to share his walk in faith and a lifetime of blessings that he was grateful for receiving.  He frequented Mass services weekly, read the Rosary most nights, and prayed daily.  He passed his love of God to his children and then to his children's children. He saw this as his solemn duty. (Psalm 127:3)

Rodrigo married Juliana on January 17, 1957.  Their partnership was strengthened with a binding love for God and for each other. Their union led to 11 children (10 surviving), 31 grand-children, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  "Papa Rodrigo" was the quintessential patriarch, and "Mama Juliana" the perfect complimentary matriarch.  Their lives were exemplary for not only their family, but for all of those who grew to know and love them.  Rodrigo was forever devoted to his wife of 63 years. He prided himself on what he and Juliana accomplished. They never feared what challenges may come their way as they whole-heartedly knew God would provide.  Until the end, and now in a different way, Rodrigo and Juliana are still the best of partners.

Rodrigo was hard-working, faith-filled, and loved his family.  He fought to celebrate every second of life God allowed, and he cherished every bit of it. He lived life to the fullest, always with a smile, and always with a helping hand of service and generosity.  He was a father to all and the Leόn family will forever celebrate his life, his legacy, and his love for God until we all meet again.
