Robin Deann Shelander Wetmore "Dede" went to dance with the angels on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Robin was born to Eileen and John Shelander on May 13, 1955 and reveled in her lifelong job as the proud big sister of both Kathleen and John Shelander. Robin loved growing up in the Sharpstown area and after having a pretty gosh-darn good time with her best friend and running buddy, Susie Gee Mack, she graduated in 1973 from Sharpstown High School. After graduation, she worked in the medical field and met her sweetheart Tim Wetmore, marrying her "tall cute guy" in 1978 and moving with him to the Cypress, TX area, where they remained lifelong residents. Robin proudly became a Mom to her only child and favorite daughter, Kara, in 1981. Robin was an active member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church and every CFISD PTO committee she could possibly join. In Kara's high school years, Ms. Robin's kitchen table served as an unofficial meeting place for many teenage girls to talk through wherever life was taking them with honesty, acceptance and a ton of laughter. Robin was thrilled when Kara met and married Rob French, who she adored, and who also shared her very wicked sense of humor. Her most favorite and treasured role was as a "Dede" to her beloved grandsons Austin and Sam French. 'Her boys' provided Robin with an active and involved life in her later years, serving first as their nursery caretaker and then their biggest cheerleader at every school and sporting event. Her whole life was spent supporting and loving her grandchildren and holding close her family that she treasured so much. We will miss her laughter, welcoming hugs and amazing skill in the kitchen. We will always admire her quiet dignity as she fought for so long and faced her numerous illnesses. She was preceded in death by her loving parents. She is survived by her adoring husband and devoted caretaker, Tim Wetmore, favorite daughter Kara and son-in-law Rob French and her two precious grandsons, Austin and Sam French. She is also survived by her sister and life-long best friend Kathleen Shelander, brother John Shelander and wife Robin, brothers in law Mike Wetmore (Peggy) and Patrick Joseph and sisters in law Eileen Krueger, Mary Frances Jeter and Katy Evans (Bill) and numerous neices and nephews: JD Shelander, Ryan Shelander, Lezli Shelander, Devyn Krueger, Skye and Lacey Wetmore, Janna Joseph, Sean and Katie Donovan, Gary and Brian Evans as well as her special Aunt Susan Shelander. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Klein Funeral Home Cy-Fair at 9am with a funeral service to be held at 10am. May the Lord grant her eternal rest and may perpetual light shine upon her.
