Roberta "Birdie" Hudson passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the age of 88.

Birdie was born on January 8, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Mary Robinson.   This was also where she met her husband of 63 years, Gene Hudson.  After Gene's discharge from the Air Force, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland and then to Woodbridge, Virginia.  In 1962, they moved to Denver, Colorado where they raised their two sons.

Birdie was quite the scholar having graduated with a major in English Literature from The University of Colorado.  For many years, Birdie served in the community as an election official and a community activist.  Her love of literature was shown by several books that she wrote by hand.  She enjoyed poetry and opera/classical music.  She would quote numerous poems and especially loved Robert Frost's "Stopping by The Woods on a Snowy Evening".  She could also quote many passages from numerous Shakespeare, Dickens and Hemmingway works.  Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven" was one of her favorites.  She was tri-lingual as she spoke English, German and French.

Birdie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Hudson.  She is survived by her son Charles "Chuck" and friend Debbie Alderte of Denver, Colorado and son Robert and wife Laura of The Woodlands, Texas.  Birdie is also survived by her granddaughter Lofton Hudson whom she always fondly called the "prettiest baby in the world".

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Avanti Assisted Living Augusta Pines, Regent Care of The Woodlands as well as Oasis Hospice for all the love and support over the past few years.

Interment will be in Evergreen Colorado for both Birdie and Gene.
