Robert Thomas Zach's Obituary
Bobby was first a boy who loved simple things: baseball, camping, family get-togethers. As he grew, he never changed his ideals, he remained with the same pure spirit and zest for life that he had in his youth. He was born in Michigan and lived as a boy in West Bloomfield, MI. Later his family moved to Tomball, TX where he graduated high school, and joined the Navy shortly thereafter. While in the Navy he was in the honor guard and twirled his rifle with confidence, never dropping it. Later he proudly served his country aboard the USS John F. Kennedy as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate, Third Class, during Operation Desert Storm in the first Gulf War.
After serving in the Navy, Bob lived in Pennsylvania for a year before moving back to Texas and starting his career at Wayne Enterprises, where he worked for 14 years as the Digitizing and Production Supervisor. Bob enjoyed sports and the outdoors and was a loyal fan to his Houston sports teams, especially the Astros.
Bob was diagnosed with ALS in January of 2009, and, after a courageous battle, finally succumbed to that dreaded disease on the 10th of October 2016.
Bob is survived by his beautiful wife, Katy, three radiant daughters, the joys of his life, Holly, Hillary, and Hannah. His mother, Joan, step-mother, Elvia, father, Tom, step-father, Richard, five brothers, Steven, Donald, Timothy, William, and Tommy, and two sisters, Melinda, and Michaela. Bob also leaves behind numerous supportive and loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
While gone from this earth, Bob will live forever in our hearts and minds.
