Obituary

Robert Long Wegner Jr., a man of quiet resilience and boundless love, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and cherished memories. Born a son and brother, he embraced life as a father, grandfather, uncle, and husband, finding joy in simple pleasures and steadfast connections.

A colonel in the Army Reserve and attorney by profession, Robert (affectionately known as "Bob") approached life with determination and a fun-loving spirit. He relished movie nights with popcorn, rooted tirelessly for his beloved Houston Astros, and never missed sending a birthday or holiday card. Bob's love for family shone brightest during holidays, where he delighted in hand-picked gifts, lively board games with his kids and grandkids, and gatherings around the table for hearty meals topped with extra cheese and sauce.

A lifelong learner, he immersed himself in genealogy, tracing family histories with meticulous care, and bonded with his son over early computer games, sharing laughter through pixelated adventures. Bob's discipline, honed during his military service, inspired his commitment to health, but his greatest pride was his family. He cherished road trips with nieces and nephews, hosted gatherings filled with warmth, and faced his final years with Parkinson's disease alongside his devoted wife, Andrea, and the compassionate care of an assisted living community.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his son, Bobby; Betty's children, Lisa, Chris, and Kevin; Andrea's son, Cyrus; grandchildren Tavish, Benjamin, Kacey, Caven, Maxen, and Ronin; and countless friends who treasured his wit and generosity. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty.

"See you again," we whisper—not as goodbye, but as a promise.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Trinity Klein Lutheran Church at 1pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
