Mr. Robert (Bob) Alan Wahlers of Cypress, Texas, went to his heavenly home on September 18, 2018 at the age of 62. Mr. Wahlers was born on February 25, 1956 in Orange, New Jersey to Albert Sidney Wahlers and Hedwig Wettstein Wahlers. He grew up in Union, New Jersey and attended The College of William and Mary, in Virginia where he graduated with a degree in accounting. He worked at Price Waterhouse in Washington D.C. for a time before moving to Boston, Massachusetts where he earned an MBA at MIT. Bob began his career with Conoco in Stamford, Connecticut and moved with them to Wilmington, Delaware before transferring to Houston. He worked at Conoco for 25 years before retiring. Bob then joined Eni U.S. Operating Co. where he worked for ten years until his passing.
It was in Houston where Bob met the love of his life, his wife Susan. Bob and Susan were a perfect match who loved each other unconditionally, having recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with two children, Jennifer Wahlers and Matthew Wahlers, who were a favorite topic of conversation for Bob, and whom he loved dearly. Bob and his family lived in Oklahoma and in England but Houston was home for the last fourteen years. He was very active in his church where he served as a deacon and he enjoyed volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. Bob enjoyed running, exercising and eating well to stay healthy. He and his family enjoyed many vacations full of hiking and other outdoor activities.
In addition to his wife and two children, Bob leaves behind his mother, Hedwig Wahlers and brother William Wahlers and numerous other relatives in Switzerland. Bob was a kind, gentle man who loved God and his family more than anything. He will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends. A memorial service is planned for September 29, 2018 at Windwood Presbyterian Church in Houston at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Living Water, Windwood Presbyterian Church, or any charity of your choosing.
