Robert F. Vacek "BB", 80, husband of 53 years to Mary O. Vacek of Dallas, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at home in Conroe, Texas. Born September 5, 1940, in El Campo, Texas, he was the son of Joseph F. Vacek and Bessie S. Vacek.

Bob's boyhood reflected a love for God, for family, and a winsome eye for adventure and technology. After beginning his career at Texas Instruments God brought Mary across his path at a college friend's wedding. They were inseparable after that meeting and 3 years later decided they couldn't live without each other. A few years into their marriage they adventured to Singapore with their toddler Vickie so he could help open the first microprocessor factory in Southeast Asia from 1971-1972. During that assignment their daughter Sherry was born. You are using many devices today that Bob's career made possible. Bob spent 33 years helping TI hire, train and compensate employees who manufactured the critical components that benefit all people. In 1996 Bob refocused his life from serving people through technology to investing into his grandchildren's lives. Bob's and Mary's love for the outdoors included camping, gardening and visiting state parks. You could always find him with a smile and a hat in the yard. They also poured many years into studying the Bible through Faith Bible Institute. Special memories from Bob's and Mary's grandchildren include sci-fi movies, snuggles, making forts, creating and building fun outside projects with his grandfather's tools, collections of tiny toys, support for the Boy Scouts, BB's chili, soups and flavorful kitchen concoctions. His patriotism and love for our country and those who fought for our freedoms ran deep.

He is survived by his loving daughters Vickie V. Hayes and her husband Joe Hayes of Katy, Texas and Sherry V. Bell and her husband W. Allen Bell of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by his sister Jan Bahnsen and his brothers Tom Vacek, Mike Vacek, and Jody Vacek and their spouses. Also, 6 cherished grandchildren, William Bell, Natalie B. Hellier and her husband William Hellier, R. Russell Bell, Chase McMillan, Julia McMillan, and Robert McMillan.

A small, private, family funeral service will take place at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia, Texas on Monday, December 21. The "Christmas Star" can be viewed in the early night sky this same evening.

The family thanks the doctors and nurses for their loving care and dedication to him over the last 41 years and the wonderful staff of Silverado Hospice for their care in his last days. The family would like to encourage any monetary amount you would spend on flowers to be spent on loving your own family, purchasing a game or puzzle, an outing or dinner, giving it to a ministry of your choice - anything to foster time together. 1 John 1:9 - "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

1 Corinthians 15: 3, 20-22, 51-52 - "For I (Apostle Paul) delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures… But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam (meaning sin passed through all mankind) all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep (if alive at Christ's 2nd coming), but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall all be changed.
