Robert (Bobbo) Ramey, age 87, went home to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 10, 2026 in Magnolia, TX. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 18, 1938 to Kenneth and Louise Ramey, Bobbo grew up helping his mom with her catering business, fishing with his grandfather in Lake George, NY, and playing the drums at all sorts of occasions and venues. He graduated from Tech High School in 1956 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served three years of active duty. After his time in the military, he attended New England Fuel Institute for two years and was employed in the plumbing and heating industry and began his career in sales at H.B. Smith Company, a boiler manufacturer in Westfield, MA. He married Barbara, one of his good friend's little sister, and they moved to a small, historic town in the country called Granville, MA. It was there that they heard the gospel for the first time and were both born again within nine months of each other. Bobbo eventually left H.B. Smith with a colleague to start their own manufacturers representative firm in 1976 but because his partner did not share his commitment to Christ the partnership quickly dissolved. Bobbo decided to found his own company called R.K. Ramey, Inc. which he fully dedicated to the Lord. Joshua 24:15—"Choose you this day who you will serve; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord"—became his life verse and he boldly emblazoned it on all his stationary and business cards and on the side of his van. Even though God blessed this new endeavor and he was highly successful and achieved and acquired things most men only dream of, he became disenchanted with the business because it took so much of his time and energy and there was no time for anything else. As a Christian, he knew he needed to have time for things of eternal value plus he had a desire to serve the Lord full-time. God opened up an opportunity for he and Barbara to serve as volunteers at Stonecroft Conference Center outside Branson, MO. So in 1990 they sold their business and their idyllic, New England homestead and moved to Missouri. During the summer months, they cleaned toilets, changed beds, ran the snack shop and bookstore, and hosted in the dining room. During the off-season when the Conference Center was closed, they would travel around the country as representatives of Stonecroft Ministries which sponsors Christian Women's Club, Village Missions, Bible Correspondence Courses, and Friendship Bible Coffees. Bobbo's leadership and management skills and hospitality gifts rose to the surface and he was asked to be the Executive Director of the Conference Center. After serving in that role for ten years, he retired and moved to Montgomery, TX in 2003 to live near his son Ken and attend Lakeside Bible Church. Bobbo served as a greeter who endeared himself to all the children by handing out stickers every Sunday and he also ran the kitchen and served as a Deacon. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, riding and showing horses and driving horse-drawn buggies, antique carriages, and sleighs, fishing, woodworking, marketing his wife's baking skills and using his creative genius to build and sell whatever he could at the Montgomery Farmer's Market. He was also a very talented jazz drummer and was always happy when he connected with another gifted musician with whom he could enjoy a "jam session."

Bobbo is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara, their daughter, Linda Poli and grandchildren Brandon Poli and his wife Charissa and Taylor Helms and her husband Tyler, and their son Ken Ramey and his wife Kelli and grandchildren Zachariah and his wife Michelle, Hannah, and Jacob and his wife Marissa, and great grandson Christopher.

A memorial service in Bobbo's honor will be held on Sunday, July 19, at 5:00pm at Lakeside Bible Church, 18940 Freeport Drive, Montgomery, TX 77356.
