Obituary

Robert Louis Olson went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 3, 2019 in Tomball, TX. He was born in Flatonia, TX on August 16, 1931. He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Alma Olson, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, his loving wife Nancy Peyton Olson of 49 years. He is survived by sons Dan Rowley, wife Patricia; Jerry Rowley wife Regina; Michael Rowley wife Lucille; by his sister Carol Edwards husband Kelly; Sister in Laws Linda Olson, Ruby Grissett husband Richard. Numerous and extended grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.

Robert "Bob" joined the Air Force 1950 received training as an Airman and Remote Communications Operator. He retired from the service and worked for them as a civilian. He furthered his education at UT in Austin, became a computer programmer. He traveled the US and Abroad building computer systems and training Air Force men in guidance missiles. He received his pilots license and loved to fly his Cessna 150. Bob was a true patriot who loved his country and Texas. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus a 3rd Degree Knight in Anderson, TX and 4th Degree Knight in Brenham, TX; he was a member of the American Legion Anderson, TX served as commander; he was President of Grimes County Crime Stoppers, Flatonia American Legion Post 94, Lifetime member of the NRA and TSRA;  and an active member of the Republican Party.

Bob was in the boy scouts in Flatonia, he loved flying, hunting, fishing, camping, his farm, family reunions, Flatonia high school reunions and telling stories. He loved to take his grandchildren Dawn, Cody and Zach to the country on weekends to teach them to fish, shoot guns, feed the cows and appreciate God's country.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Southern Knights Assisted Living and Memory Care in Tomball for loving him as much as we did. Harbor Hospice for all your support and care for Bob, your compassion and service is greatly appreciated.
