Robert Dana Niles, 81, of Cypress, Texas passed away on September 16, 2024 after a long illness.
Bob was born the oldest of five children on July 25, 1943 to Chester and Muriel Niles in Boston Massachusetts. Bob graduated from Eli Whitney High School in Hamden, Connecticut in 1962 followed by three years in the United States Army. He went on to study Business Administration at Quinnipiac University.
After graduating in 1969, Bob married Nancy Coyne of Cheshire, Connecticut. Bob and Nancy went on to have two children, Kelly Niles Murphy of Cypress, Texas and Kevin Martin Niles of Waunakee, Wisconsin.
Bob was an avid runner and enjoyed running all races from one mile to marathons. He always carried his running shoes and wherever he traveled, he ran. After retiring Bob returned to the favorite hobby of his youth, tinkering with engines and restoring vehicles.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Kelly Murphy and husband Michael; son Kevin Niles and wife Sarah; and his greatest joy eight grandchildren; Timothy Niles, Trenton Niles, Todd Niles, Malia Niles, Ashley Murphy, Troy Niles, Megan Murphy, and Annabelle Niles. He also leaves behind one sister Carol Niles Fletcher and three brothers; David, Ben and Steve Niles.
We will always carry your memory in our hearts. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you check your tires, the belts and all the spark plug wires – just as he would whenever his children came to visit.
