Robert Henry Namendorf, Jr, 89, departed this life to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant!" from his Savior on 27 June 2016.
Beloved husband, dad, brother, and grandpa, Bob was born 02 May 1927 in Houston, Texas, and never left. He graduated from Reagan High School and attended University of Houston. He was introduced to Colleen Fehrenkamp by his uncle, fell in love and was married until she left to be with the Lord 54 years later. They had three sons and one special daughter.
He was a positive Christian example whose incredible faith in the Lord Jesus carried through a robust life. His faith showed itself in how he taught the lessons of the Bible in how he lived and treated others. An unsung hero who sacrificed for his wife and children and endearingly called "Mr Bob" by their friends. He'll be sorely missed and fondly remembered for how he made everyone feel like he really wanted them around, even during one of his bad days. He never wanted anyone to leave his house upset and always did his best to ensure everyone knew how much he loved them. A fascination with flight started with model airplane competition, soloing prior to enlisting in the Navy at 17 in WW II and becoming an aviation mechanic, turning into a 50+ year career in corporate aviation and membership in Q.B. and P.A.M.A.
Bob is survived by his children Mitch Namendorf and his wife Mardie, Robin Parker and her husband Courtney, Charles Namendorf and his wife Judy, and Jeffrey Namendorf and his wife Heather; grandchildren Sonny, Faith, Alyssa, Dieter, Christopher, Corbin, Kara, Kassandra, Conner, Chance, Nathaniel, and Wyatt; his loving sister Sue Pless; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Any man can father a child, but it takes someone special to be called "Dad." We just lost the best one.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 30 June from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, Spring, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday July 1st, 2016 at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 5830 Burmuda Dunes Drive Interment will follow at Klein Memorial Park FM 2920
