Obituary

Robert (Bob) Franklin Myers, 86, of Spring, Texas, died at Southern Knights Memory Care in Tomball, Texas. June 3, 2022.

Bob, Pastor Bob, to many, was born October 13, 1935 in Logan, Ohio to Carl and Ruth Myers. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran in Logan, Ohio on December 22, 1935 and confirmed there on May 16, 1948. On June 11, 1961 he was, also, ordained there as a Pastor in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.

Many fond memories were shared by Bob in regard to growing up outside Logan on the family land with the big Myers family of ten boys and one girl. His parents were proud of their "Myers' boys" and their one special daughter.

Bob graduated from Logan High School in 1953 where the proverb written about him in the school annual was, "A born leader and a friend to all" which turned out to be prophetic. He then graduated from St. John Lutheran College in Winfield, Kansas and seminary at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis Missouri in 1961. Bob, also, earned a Master in Counseling and a Doctorate in Ministry. His ministry took him to three states: Missouri, Indiana and Texas. All of his ministry centered on teaching people to love each other as Christ loves them.

While at Winfield Lutheran College Bob met his future wife, Karline Mertins. They married August 7, 1960 and were blessed with three children: Michelle Simkins (Kenny), Beth Sharp (Warren) and John Myers (Lisa). He was further blessed with eight grandchildren (Christopher, Hannah, Heidi, Jeremy, Kayla, Taylor, Alyssa and Lauren) and three great-grandchildren(Joey, Johnny, and Coraline). After Karline's death, Bob married Barbara Martin O'Hara January 26, 1985 and was a loving step-father to her son, John O'Hara.

Bob was proceeded in death by his parents and six brothers (Pete, Don, Richard, Paul, John George) and his sister (Ann) He is survived by his three brothers (Butch, Bud and Tom) and other immediate family.

Bob will be interred in Brookside Memorial Park, Houston, Texas beside Karline Myers, the loving mother of his children.

Pallbearers are: Jon Myers, Kenny Simkins, John O'Hara, Jeremy Simkins, Taylor Simkins and Jordan Campos
