Robert 'Bob' Morris was born in Kansas City MO on June 6, 1929 to William Robert Morris and Marcella Shelton Morris. They lived in the Kansas City MO area near family until Bobby's later high school years, when they moved to Warren AR. Bob was a very athletic young man, playing high school sports including boxing, baseball and quarterbacking the high school football team. His pride and joy as a teenager was his old red fire truck that served as his transportation. He wouldn't let girls ride in it; at least, not Marcy his sister.

Bob worked in the oil field to put himself through the University of Houston where he received a degree with a dual major in geology and petroleum engineering. He participated in both political and social events such as Frontier Days and ROTC drill team. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the army during the Korean war and stationed in Germany on the Iron Curtain. He met and married Dorothy Norton in 1951; they had three children and lived in Lafayette LA, Benghazi Libya and Houston. Bob was an extraordinary man and father. He had a talent for being perceptive, thoughtful and caring particularly with his children. Bob was a gentleman by all standards and a grand story teller. His seasoned stories shared family tradition and life lessons.

Bob worked as an engineer for a number of large oil companies. He particularly enjoyed working for Tenneco. He spent time off shore managing big rigs. He was highly sought after as a rig manager and had the impossible task of managing some 75 rigs as the rig supervisor. He held a number of patents for oil field equipment that he designed and sold including the Dad Saver. Later, he was an industrious wildcatter in the O&G field; finding, researching and making deals. He was an active member in a number of professional organizations, particularly SIPES where he attended monthly meetings and yearly conventions.

Bob married Kathleen MacPhee Morris in 1997, the love of his life. They were devoted to each other; he was an ideal man and mate. They formed a blended family with their 6 adult children and 8 grandchildren. They became members of JW United Methodist Church after moving to Champion Forest and enjoyed the local community. Bob was a sportsman, hunting and fishing any time he and Kathleen had a chance. He was an adventurer who loved to travel seeing much of the world with Kathleen during their time together. U of Houston football was his pride and joy, being a season ticket holder; he would have so enjoyed the Houston Cougars this season. He was also active with the geology and engineering alumni. Bob loved scuba diving and snow skiing with the family. He had a strong family commitment and enjoyed traveling with and entertaining the family during holidays. Bob valued education, hard work, clean living, his church and his family.

Bob is survived by his wife Kathleen Morris, his sister Marcie Dundas, his daughters Melody M. Ailsworth and husband Greg of Virginia, Nancy Morris and husband Roger Fahy of Houston and his son Norton Morris of Los Angeles and grandsons, Bobby, Sam, and Ben Ailsworth. Step children Paul MacPhee and his wife Margaret of Vancouver WA, Rob MacPhee and his wife Ashley of Carmarillo CA and Heather Ryan and her husband, Chris of Vancouver B.C. and five step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ellen Fisk.
