Robert "Butch" Metro, 74, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pamela Metro; his son, Daniel Metro; his daughters, Sandra Lappe (husband Les) and Stacy Schlegel (husband Troy); and his grandchildren, Tyler, Steven, Collin, Kylah, and Bryson.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Helen Metro, and his brother, Michael Metro.

He is also survived by his brother, Frank Metro (Debbie), and his sisters, Kathleen DeAngelis (husband Joe), JoAnne McHugh (husband Michael), and Sharon Jones (husband David) as well as several nieces and nephews.

Born on July 16, 1951, Robert entered the world on a day that would later hold double significance. On that same special date many years later, he married the love of his life, Pamela. Their marriage — a true partnership built on love, respect, and unwavering commitment — lasted 49 beautiful years.

A devoted husband and proud father, Robert cherished his family above all else. He was a loving, hard-working dad to his children: Sandra, Stacy, and Daniel. His steady presence, quiet strength, and guiding hand shaped their lives in profound ways. To them, he was their rock — the man they could always count on.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1974. After his honorable discharge, he channeled his determination and entrepreneurial spirit into building a successful business. He founded ProEx Transportation and Logistics, constructing the company from the ground up. For over 40 years, ProEx stood as a testament to his vision, integrity, and strong work ethic.

When he wasn't building his business or caring for his family, Robert embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid bowler and golfer who loved the camaraderie and friendly competition these sports offered. His greatest passion, however, was flying. After earning his pilot's license, he took to the skies in his beloved Cessna airplane, finding freedom and joy above the clouds.

Above all, Robert was a man of deep faith who believed in his Heavenly Father and lived his life with kindness and humility. He was a loyal friend to many, always ready with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a word of encouragement. Those who knew him best remember him as their soulmate, their strength, their guide, and the heart of their family.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and quiet accomplishment that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral services will be held at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas.
