Robert David McHale went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 24, 2022 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his daughters who are grateful that his 89 years were filled with happiness and vitality.

Bob was the son of Raymond Mark McHale and Mary Izetta McHale. He was born in Salt Lake City on March 13, 1933.  He was the sixth of eight children and was the youngest boy. He grew up in the countryside of Northern California where his family farmed. Bob received a scholarship to study veterinary medicine and enjoyed attending college for one year before joining the United States Army in 1953.  There he was trained in meat inspection. His travels in the US Army led him to Memphis, Tennessee where he met his bride, Bobbie June Canady. It was love at first sight and they were married in a few short months.

Bob and Bobbie were blessed with four children and 61 years of marriage before her death in 2017. Bob's career as Meat Grader in the United States Department of Agriculture led them to various places to live including Tennessee, Iowa, New Mexico and Texas. They made lifelong friends in every location.

Learning was a lifelong passion for Bob.  He was always reading or watching television about topics that interested him.  He could diagnose most of the patients on the veterinary show,"The Amazing Dr. Pol." had numerous magazine subscriptions for raising chickens, cooking, health and gardening.  He read every western novel written by Louis L'amour, two or three times each.

Being a father and grandfather was a joy to Bob. His children were separated by 16 years so he was parenting for a long time. They became grandparents when their youngest girls were in elementary school. He was a proud father and taught his children the importance of hard work and honesty while showering them with love.

He and Bobbie had 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. They all adored him. He and Bobbie made it a priority to be part of the grandkids' lives and attended their special events and games.  Bob celebrated his 89th birthday at the Houston Livestock Show watching a great grandson show a pig.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bobbie McHale, son Patrick David McHale and brothers Jim McHale, Jack McHale and Larry McHale. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Lane and husband Pat Lane; daughter Karen Alexander and husband Jonathan Alexander, daughter Kristi Turner and Zack Hall; daughter in law Michele McHale; grandchildren Jessica Rutherford, Patrick David McHale, Jr, Tonya Canales, Ashley Gillespie, Nathaniel Alexander, Natalie Alexander, Taylor Turner, Heston Turner and Emmah Hall; brother Jerry McHale, sisters Fawn Arthur, Clare Moore and Trudy Nicolet; Sister in law Kay Harber and husband Bruce, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by them all and made special memories with each of his relatives.

The family would like to thank the parishioners of Stoneham United Methodist Church for their fellowship and friendship to Bob. His church family brought him much happiness.

Bob's life will be celebrated at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia, Texas on November 19th at 10am with a reception following at Stoneham United Methodist Church.
