Obituary

Robert "Bob" LaCoste, 72, beloved son, husband, brother, father and grandfather left this world October 20, 2017 to be with his Lord and Savior after complications with Alzheimer's. Bob was born on January 10, 1945 to the late Robert LaCoste, Sr. and Bettie LaCoste Watt.
Bob attended Spring Branch High School (class of 1963), South Texas and the University of Houston. He was an athlete and lettered in football and track during his school years.
Bob began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1965. He served his country as a combat medic in the US Army 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War before returning to the oil patch. Bob spent 47 years in sales for drilling, production, and fluids with most of the major manufacturers in the industry. He retired in 2012 from BP/Castrol.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his greatest enjoyment was elk hunting in the Colorado Rockies. He had a special gift and talent for calling in ducks, geese and elk and a multitude of stories to go along with each hunt. He was a well-respected hunting guide in the Katy area in his younger years.
Bob was a great story teller and loved a good joke. Most often they were acceptable for work but not usually safe for church or children. He loved a good laugh but he adored his children and grandchildren most of all. He was known by several interesting nicknames such as "Squatlow" and "Zipperhead" with more great stories for each of these names. He was a proud member of the Noisy Boys Club for the majority of his time in the oil field and looked forward to the rodeo Cook-Off every year with the Noisy Boys.
During his lifetime Bob was a member of Second Christian Church, St. Cuthbert Episcopal, and Savior Anglican Church where he served as a Vestry member. At the time of his death he was a devoted member at St. Timothy's Anglican Church where several years ago he rededicated his life to Christ.
Bob is survived by his mother Bettie Watt;  his loving wife of 52 years, Susan Lorino LaCoste; brother James LaCoste and wife Tonya; sisters Cathy Little and husband Gideon, Susan Van Loozen and husband Jimmy; daughters Renee LaCoste Long and husband Michael, Heather LaCoste McClain and husband Darren; grandchildren Alexandria, MacKenna, Monica and Cameron Long; Cody Robinson and wife Gabrielle, Caileigh Denison and husband Colton, and their father Toby Robinson; great-grandchildren Paisley, Sadie Rae, Kinzleigh, Gauge and Kendall; brother-in-law Bob Lorino and wife Becky as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Klein Funeral Home 1400 West Main Street Tomball, Texas from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on October 27, 2017 at St. Timothy's Anglican Church 6819 Louetta Road Spring, Texas. Private burial will follow at the Bradley family ranch, TenShy, in Strawn, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy's Anglican Church, Alzheimer's Association, the Rose of Texas Hospice or the charity of your choice.
