KLINE, Robert "Bob", age 88, of Spring, TX, formerly of Hamel, IL died peacefully in his sleep Friday, January 9, 2026 at his home in Spring, Texas.
Bob was born May 7, 1937 in New Douglas, IL.
He was the son of Clifford & Alberta (Miller) Kline.
He married Sharyn Seeger on June 15, 1958. Together they had two daughters which they raised in Hamel, IL.
Bob served in the Army for 4 years. After that he worked as a meat cutter for National Food Stores. He retired in 2000 and enjoyed 23 years of retirement with his wife of over 60 years. Bob enjoyed going on cruises with Sharyn, spending time with friends and family, spending time with his daughters and granddaughters, high school & college football games, doing puzzles, watching planes, playing poker, scratch offs, and most of all, riding his bike. Sharyn & Robert moved to Spring, Texas in 2013 to be closer to family. There he was a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church.
Bob is survived by his daughters Robin (Rickey) Wilson; Kristi (Carlos) Gonzalez; Grandchildren Alexandra and Gabriella Gonzalez; His precious dog, Sugar; Sister Candace Oettel; Brother Donald Kline; Sister-in-law Linda (Nelson) Bentlage. Nephews; Jerry (Rose) Kline, Joseph Oettel, Jon (Sheila) Oettel, Steven (Gay) Bentlage, Dennis (Angie) Bentlage, Kevin (Angie) Bentlage and many great nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharyn, Parents Clifford & Alberta Kline, Mother & Father-in-law Gene & Delsie Seeger, Sister-in-law Arlene Kline, Brother-in-law Kenneth Oettel, and Niece Tammy Kline.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Bob's honor to New Douglas Cemetery (Duane Schallenberg, 12643 Silver Creek Rd, New Douglas, IL 62074), Champion Forest Baptist Church ( https://www.championforest.org 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd, Houston, TX 77069), or a charity of your choosing.
A small gathering will take place at New Douglas cemetery at a later date.
