Robert Joseph Kinslow, 87, of Tomball, passed away June 23, 2018. He was born July 7, 1930, in Syracuse, NY to the late Joseph Kinslow and Emma Bregard.
Bob was raised by his father in the midst of the depression. Throughout his growing up years, Bob displayed exceptional athletic talent. He excelled in basketball, baseball and football during his high school career at North Syracuse High School where he graduated in 1948. He continued his athletic career at Manilius Military Academy where he graduated with honors for having made 5e most notable contribution to the school athletic program in serving as coach of JV baseball team as well as participating on the Varsity basketball and football teams.
Bob received a full scholarship to Virginia Military Institute (VMI). During his tenure,Bob played a critical role in VMI achieving its first ever southern conference championship. In 1952 Bob enlisted In the US Marine Corps completing eight years of military service. He was honorably discharged in 1960 at the rank of Sargent.
Bob met and married the love of his life, Dianne Redmond, in December of 1953. Together they shared 57 years of marriage blessed with 2 children, Greg and Lisa. Bobs career with Instant Whip took the family to many locations finally settling in Houston 1972. Bob continued to work for Instant Whip as plant manager. He was recognized for his ability to revitalize operations and contributed to several innovations at the company. He left Instant Whip in the late 1980s and assumed the role of Safety Officer for Pyramid Manufacturing until his retirement in 2000. He came out of his retirement to work at Jersey Meadows Golf Course where he worked until 2017.
Bob was known, loved and admired by many. Those close to him found him loyal, generous, and quick witted.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Kinslow; daughter Lisa Kinslow Haney and husband Edward; grandchildren, Joshua Hopkins and wife Melissa, Shannon Kinslow Welch and husband Dylan, and Justin Kinslow and fiancée Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Lex Hopkins, Summer Warren, Aspen Welch, Kami Welch, Alex Welch, Nic Welch, Drew Welch, Mike Welch, and Jack Welch; and sister, Robin Kinslow-Evans and husband Edward.
Including his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Kinslow.
