Obituary

Robert H. Garcin of Houston, TX passed away on October 8, 2020 at the age of 71. He was born in Everett, WA on September 20 th , 1949. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Lois LaNell (2016). He graduated from high school in Fort Worth, Texas from Diamond Hill Jarvis High School. He then joined the United States Navy where he served in the Vietnam War. During his time in the service, Bob was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for meritorious service in combat. He is survived by his sons Quentin W. Garcin, Logan T. Garcin, and daughter Sabin R. De Bruin, grandchildren; Madelyn and Emily Garcin, brothers; Lewis Chadwick, Thomas Chadwick and John Chadwick. Niece; Dawn Breedlove and nephews Chase and Dillon Breedlove.

Bob met LaNell while in the United States Navy while on leave in Long Beach California while serving aboard the USS Bainbridge. They eloped to Las Vegas, NV and were married January 16 th , 1972. They would have been married 48 years. Bob and LaNell moved to Houston, TX after the birth of Sabin and Quentin where he began a long, successful career in Offshore Drilling ascending to executive level management and consulting towards the end of his 40+ year career until he retired in 2014. Bob spent an extensive amount of his career in India, Peru, The Netherlands, Egypt, Vietnam, Mexico, The Canary Islands, Nova Scotia, The Bering Sea, and The North Sea. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a loving father, fearless protector, and expert seaman.
