Robert Emmett Foley, 73, of Klein, Texas died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at his home with his loved ones at his side.
He was born Nov. 13, 1943, in U.P. Michigan to John and Helen Schneller Foley. He married Linda Dudley, in 1989 in The Woodlands, TX.
Rob could talk to anyone and it would not take him long to make a lasting impression. He loved being a public school educator and had a passion for promoting fellow educators and speaking on behalf of his colleagues. He enjoyed teaching, watching and playing golf, spending time with his children, interacting with his grandchildren, nieces and nephew, fishing with his son Adam and staying connected to friends in Wisconsin and South Dakota. You would often find Rob talking politics (Dems VS Pubs), visiting state capitols and national parks, watching the Packers, Badgers, Texans, Rockets and Astros. He loved movies, asparagus, chocolate cake, ice cream, Anthony's homemade ribs, Jameson, Fireball, Cinnamon Schnapps, traveling abroad and his dogs: Tigger, Pepper and Brandy.
Robert Foley is survived by his wife, Linda J. Foley; children, Robert E. Foley, Jr. and wife Christine, Sarah Foley Minotti and husband Anthony, Adam Q. Foley and wife Terri, Andrew M. Foley and wife Heather, Diana Dudley Philpot and husband Tom, Claire Dudley Whitehead and husband Darryl, Don Dudley and wife Susan; 10 grandchildren, Ashton, Natasha, Alexandra, Katelyn, Amber, Daniel, Devin, Kendall, Ramsey and Quynn; 3 great-grandchildren, Dalton, Hunter and Christian; and brothers Peter Foley and Michael Foley.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Foley, and daughter Laura Dudley Cook.
Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 9, 2017 in Spring, TX at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Parish , 7810 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX 77379. A second service will be held in Wisconsin on Wednesday, July 19 at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2006 Weston St., La Crosse. Rob will be laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to: National Education Association Foundation to be used to further public school students' education.
