Obituary

Robert George Everingham

1928 – 2021

Robert Everingham went to be with His Lord and Savior, July 30, 2021, in Spring, Texas at the age of 93. Bob, a man of faith and integrity, was born in Onaway, Michigan, on April 10, 1928 to Christena and Kenneth Everingham. He was raised on the family farm, attended Onaway High School and graduated salutatorian.

After his graduation Bob moved to Adrian, Michigan, where he met and married the love of his life, Marie Meller in 1949. They have been inseparable for the past 72 years.

Bob started his long and successful career with The Kroger Company as a sacker in 1946. His hard work and determination led to moving his seven children around the country with each promotion. After 44 years with the company, he retired as divisional Vice President in Louisville, Kentucky in 1990. Everyone that had the privilege of working with him always spoke of his humbleness, kindness and authenticity.

Bob and Marie moved back to Houston to enjoy retirement. Bob would fill his heart through golfing, gardening, swimming, and traveling with friends and family. Most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which usually involved a large gathering at a lake or pool with great food and a competitive game of cards. Bob tried to always attend his grandchildren's events and was their biggest fan.

First and foremost, Bob was a servant of God. As a man of faith, he was a true inspiration to his family. He ingrained in us the value of love and commitment to the Lord. Bob left an extensive and extraordinary legacy to all that had the opportunity to know him.

He is preceded in death by his son Michael, his parents, Christena and Kenneth, his brother Lyle (Rlene), his sister Donna (Dusty), and his brother-in-law Richard. He is survived by his wife, Marie Alice Everingham; his children, Tom (Sally), Shari (Jim), Joy (Ken), Michele (Cameron), Karen (Dennis), and Jill (Bill); his sisters Joan, Jackie (Fred), Linda and brother Jim (Sandra). Also survived by his grandchildren, Wesley, Josh (Misty), Matt (Jenn), Hallie (Dusten), Sarah (Jarrod), Jeff, Mandy (Kody), Courtney, Shannon, Cameron II, Katie (Marc), Allison (Ethan), Peyton (Michael), Katelin, Jacob (Krista), Steven, Lora (Danny), Morgan, Cameron (Alissa); great grandchildren, Madison, Luke, Mayley, Landon, Mason, Camen, Caden, Cashlen, Aubrey, Riggins, Addison, Colton, Layla, Sawyer and Cole.
